What is the Greek keyboard layout?

The standard Greek layout maps letters onto QWERTY positions by sound and shape (for example α on the A key, β on the B key).

How do I type accented vowels (ά, έ, ή, ί, ό, ύ, ώ)?

Use the tonos dead key (the ; key on a Greek layout) followed by the vowel, or the dedicated combinations.

How do I type the dialytika (ϊ, ϋ) and combined marks (ΐ, ΰ)?

The dialytika (diaeresis) is entered with a dead key. Combined tonos-and-dialytika letters ΐ and ΰ are typed with the matching combination.

How do I type the final sigma (ς)?

The final sigma ς is used at the end of a word and has its own key (usually the W position), while σ is used elsewhere.

Can I type polytonic (Ancient) Greek?

The standard keyboard is monotonic. Ancient/polytonic Greek needs a polytonic layout for breathings and multiple accents.
